Travelling around Beijing
Beijing is the second biggest city in the People's Republic of China next to Shanghai. This capital is home to the Beijing International Unity Cup but if you are taking a break from the event, you may want to consider travelling around Beijing to explore its sights and sounds.
The city is home to four central districts, with the old walled sections being home to most of the historical attractions. The districts are spread within or a little beyond the ring Road Two. Most entertainment, dining, and accommodation options are also available in those districts: Xicheng, Dongcheng, Xuanwu, and Chongwen.
When travelling around Beijing, the best transportation options include the subway. If you can understand a little Mandarin, you can take the bus, which is cheaper and can take you anywhere in the city. Taxis can also be an alternative if you want to avoid the crowds.
From Beijing, you can also access the Great Wall of China, which is just an hour away from the city by train or an hour and a half-hour trip by bus. But if you want to stay in the city, its main attractions include Forbidden City, Yonghegong, Beijing Zoo, the Summer Palace, and the National Museum.
